In this episode we interview best friends Tiernan Turner and Matt Kendall; film school grads who hatched a plan to ride 10,000 miles on Suzuki DRZ400 Supermotos from Los Angeles to Rio to attend the world-famous Carnival. Along the way, they filmed their adventures (and misadventures) capturing it all in an award-winning documentary call Ride Report: 10,000 miles to Rio (link to trailer below - available on Amazon Prime + other streaming services).
This film isn’t new – in fact, I’ve watched it twice several years apart but it resonates with me. Too often I find myself talking to people who love the idea of going on an international adventure but are afraid of actually traveling internationally or claim they don’t have enough experience to competently complete or endure such an adventure.
Our guests today were neither overly accomplished riders nor afraid to embrace and engage with the local culture. Their spirit, ambition, and spontaneity is the core of what adventure travel is all about.
